Welcome to Charlotte Harbor!
All About Charlotte Harbor
Charlotte Harbor Center is an exceptional public education school dedicated to serving students from Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in Charlotte County. Since opening its doors in 1980, CHC has been committed to providing a supportive, comprehensive learning environment for all students.
Our Campus and Culture
Nestled in a beautiful, park-like setting with mature oak and pine trees, our campus provides a tranquil atmosphere for learning. We are conveniently located off Tamiami Trail on Hancock Avenue, situated right behind Peace River Elementary School.
Our educational philosophy is centered on fostering positive growth. We are proud to be a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) campus, where we proactively encourage and reward positive behaviors, helping students develop crucial social and emotional skills.
Comprehensive and Specialized Programs
CHC is designed to meet the diverse needs of every learner. Our specialized services are delivered across three distinct on-campus programs: West Program, S.A.N.D.S. Program, and the S.A.I.L. Program.
We offer a robust suite of therapeutic and enrichment services, including:
-
Therapies: Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Language Therapy, as well as Vision Services.
-
Enrichment: Art, and an Aquatics program.
-
Life Skills: A dynamic vocational program with opportunities both on and off campus.
Inclusive Learning Spaces
A highlight of our facilities is our fully adaptive and inclusive playground, which opened in October 2011. This space was thoughtfully designed to promote physical, cognitive, visual, and hearing experiences, ensuring all students can participate and thrive. This vital project was generously sponsored by the Punta Gorda Rotary Club, with invaluable support from local businesses, organizations, and the general public.
