CHC Title 1 Compact
A Title I Compact (often called a School-Parent Compact) is a written agreement that outlines how parents, school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improving student academic achievement.
The Three Key Pillars
A standard compact is typically divided into three sections, defining the specific responsibilities of each party:
- The School’s Responsibility: The school pledges to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction, a supportive learning environment, and regular communication (like parent-teacher conferences and progress reports).
- The Parent’s Responsibility: Parents commit to supporting their child's learning at home. Common examples include monitoring attendance, ensuring homework is finished, limiting screen time, and volunteering when possible.
-
The Student’s Responsibility: The student agrees to do their part by attending school regularly, asking for help when needed, and giving their best effort on schoolwork
